Technology to Enhance Learning

Learning how to effectively use the devices you already own

Devices, such as your iphone, ipad, tablet, laptop, etc, have built-in features that can enhance your access and aid in the learning process. Below are some technology resources to explore:

Free during COVID-19 Pandemic

  • JAWS, ZoomText and Fusion
    • Freedom Scientific has released special, free, short-term licenses of these three software for individuals with a personal email address in Canada or the United States
  • WordQ
    • WordQ is more than a spelling and grammar check, and can be used virtually anywhere you type on a computer, online or offline, helping users realize their full potential and gain confidence in their communication and self-expression.
  • Kurzweil 3000
    • Kurzweil Education is offering a free subscription for all during COVID-19. Kurzweil is an easy-to-use software platform that promotes independent learning—on any device. It also has the functionality to convert an image only PDF to a PDF that has selectable text that can be read out loud.​​​​​​
