Accommodations through CAE

The UCLA Center for Accessible Education (CAE) works to ensure that students with qualifying disabilities and medical conditions have equitable access to UCLA's academic programs and campus experience. For neurodivergent students, CAE can be an important resource for addressing disability-related barriers in the learning environment and identifying reasonable accommodations that support access and participation. CAE describes its mission as creating an accessible, inclusive, and supportive learning environment through accommodations, disability advocacy, and collaboration with students, faculty, and staff.

Neurodivergent students may have different relationships with disability and accommodations. Some students arrive at UCLA having used accommodations throughout their education, while others may be exploring accommodations for the first time. Students with conditions such as autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, or other conditions that substantially limit one or more major life activities may be eligible for disability-related accommodations. CAE determines eligibility and accommodations individually based on the student's circumstances and disability-related functional limitations.
