Classroom Furniture & Physical Accessibility

Accessible classroom furniture can be an important component of ensuring that disabled students have equitable access to their courses and learning environments. Classroom furniture accommodations may address disability-related barriers involving seating, positioning, mobility, physical access, or other functional needs within the classroom. CAE works collaboratively with students, faculty, and campus partners to identify and coordinate appropriate furniture solutions, which may include adjustable-height tables, ergonomic or alternative seating, accessible workstations, or modifications to the location and arrangement of classroom furniture. This section provides information about classroom furniture accommodations, how students can request them, and the shared role of the campus community in maintaining accessible and inclusive learning spaces.
