Disability Parking

Please note: The CAE will be updating its disability parking eligibility guidelines in early 2018 to better reflect alignment with ADA and Section 504.

Students with a disability-based need for parking can apply through the Center for Accessible Education (CAE) for a Pre-Approved Parking Application. Please note the process of applying for a permit through the CAE is not the same as applying through Parking Services, as the CAE does not have a deadline to apply for disability parking. Students with a DMV Parking Placard Receipt or License Plates (issued by any state) are guaranteed a parking permit for the period that the plate or placard is valid.  Otherwise, parking is based on need, verification, options, and address.

All vehicles -- including those of students, staff, or visitors -- parked on campus must have a UCLA permit displayed at all times. This includes vehicles displaying valid handicapped plates or placards. For more information on daily parking rates, please visit Transportation Services Summer Access to Campus Homepage. To purchase a daily permit, visit any of the Parking Information Booths on campus.

Process

Students with a disability-based need for parking may obtain a pre-approved parking application beginning one month prior to the start of a new quarter in two ways:

1) If the student is already approved for parking accommodations, please email caeparking@saonet.ucla.edu to request your application. Please include your name, university ID number, and preferred lot. An email will be sent when your application is ready for pick up.

2) If you are not approved for parking accommodations, please contact the CAE at (310) 825-1501 and schedule an appointment with Bernadette Gonzalez (bgonzalez@saonet.ucla.edu).

Please note that if you do not have a DMV-issued disability placard and you are requesting parking via the CAE, our Parking Committee will determine if your application meets the eligibility requirements.

Costs

Parking fees vary depending on the type of permit and the applicant’s home address.

Monthly - $81 or $101

Quarterly - $243 or $303

Please note: Residence hall students or students who live in the 90024 zip code must buy quarterly permits. For more information about parking fees, please visit the Transportation Homepage.
